Visit Red Lake!

There are many resorts and lodges available for that perfect vacation and a number of Resort Packages are available in the area.

Tourism is an important part of the economy of Red Lake. There are many lakes, beaches, parks and a beautiful 18 hole golf course Red Lake Golf and Country Club for your summer pleasure. Cross country skiing and snow machining and ice fishing in the winter are easily accessible to visitors and residents.

We lay claim to being the "Norseman Capital of the World" and we celebrate this every July with the Norseman Festival. The Festival is held at the Phillip Thomas Vinet Centennial Park and there is a mix of activities ranging from live entertainment and music, children games, movies, activities and rides, street vendors, food booths, pancakes breakfasts, fish fry's, fireworks, weekend wind up BBQ and of course bushplane sightseeing flights! Many visiting Norseman aircraft join us to participate in the static and performance displays on Howey Bay.

The Red Lake area offers great fishing and hunting along with one of the best-kept ecotourism sites in the world - Woodland Caribou Provincial Park. The park has 450,000 hectares of untouched wilderness, which stretches from Red Lake to the Manitoba border. Woodland Caribou Park permits are available from the self serve kiosk at the entrance to the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre and the Ministry of Natural Resources Office.

Woodland Caribou Provincial Park is located within the newly named UNESCO World Heritage site, Pimachiowin Aki (The Land that Gives Life); located within Canada's boreal forest this site has received this prestigious recognition for its cultural and natural values.

There are treasures of First Nations History, relics of the world's last great gold rush and many displays relating to the history of Red Lake.
